Meet Scott
Most people know me from my many years with Nintendo of America, where I played a number of roles (including Publications Director and Nintendo Power’s Managing Editor) and I also played thousands of games! Pretty good work if you can get it. I was fortunate enough to begin my Nintendo career during the company’s early success back in 1987. I was the 93rd employee hired at NOA. I began as a Game Counselor, answering gamers’ questions, and helping with the old Fun Club Newsletter. A few months later, I was tapped to be part of the start-up editorial staff for Nintendo Power.
Prior to working at Nintendo, I spent two years in Providence, R.I. earning a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing at Brown University. Before that I attended the University of Washington in Seattle.
Since leaving Nintendo at the end of 2007, I’ve maintained a connection with Nintendo Power as editor-at-large, advising Future US and writing articles and even some special issues. Over this past year I started consulting with video game publishers to help them plan and execute launches and ongoing marketing campaigns.
I live near Seattle in the fertile Snoqualmie Valley with my wife, Kelly, two children, a dog and a cat.
